“Dear brother/sister,”
“- Abdullah b. Abbas dice: El Profeta dijo lo siguiente:”
“- Based on this incident, there are different opinions on whether the sajdah is valid or not if it is performed without touching the ground with both feet or the toes of one foot.”
“According to some wise men, it is mandatory for at least one finger to be directed towards the Qibla.”
“According to other scholars, it is recommended to point the toe towards the direction of Mecca. It is not advised to stop doing so without a valid excuse.”
“According to Imam Nevevi, there are also different opinions within the Shafi’i sect regarding whether it is obligatory or recommended to prostrate on all the mentioned body parts in the hadith. If it is considered obligatory or recommended according to the valid opinion, placing the feet on the ground is not sufficient for prostration.”
“- It is beneficial to present some expressions from the two books of jurisprudence written in Turkish in the Hanafi and Shafi’i schools of thought:”
“- According to the evaluation of Vehbe Zuhaylî; for the four schools, a complete prostration -as mentioned in the previous hadith- is performed by prostrating on the seven parts of the body.”
“- According to Ibn Abidin, the act of placing the feet (at least one of them or a toe) on the ground has been evaluated in three different ways: mandatory, recommended, and optional. This matter refers to the foot – or rather the toe – touching the ground. Pointing the toe towards the Qibla is a recommendation, while leaving it is discouraged. It is also discouraged to only place one foot on the ground without a valid reason.”
