“Dear brother/sister,”
“En many countries of the Islamic world, when passing punishment laws, they do not resort to Islamic methods and rules in each national parliament, nor is Islamic law the measure for them. Rather, they take as a measure the laws applied in powerful countries. However, there is no contradiction between the punishments imposed for other crimes, except those established by Islamic law, such as murder, adultery, theft, false accusation of adultery to an innocent person and consumption of alcohol, and the punishments imposed in Islamic and non-Islamic states. They may be similar to each other. Since the determination of the type and amount of punishment for crimes not specified in Islam is in the hands of scholars and jurists of the time. These punishments may include imprisonment.
